Portrait en Pied
A performance-exhibition imagined by Olivier Saillard for J.M. Weston, with the collaboration of Sonia Ichti.
Born in 1969, the Chelsea boot is one of the most iconic pair of shoe of the House. Beneath the apparent simplicity of its curves, this model hides a special know-how called cambering on form. In a single piece of leather, the upper is cut, shaped and fitted with an unchanged balance of volume. Directly inspired by the world of horse riding, the Chelsea boot, which design is undisturbed by anything other than the elastic, is an example of ergonomics and resolution.
To celebrate the uniqueness of this model of excellence, a high heel came to play, like a pedestal for the women steps. While the flat version remains unchanged, a second interpretation is born and gives the famous ankle boot an urban, haughty, feminine and bold look !
The Chelsea boot becomes the subject of a performance-exhibition imagined by Olivier Saillard. Thanks to the creations presented, the spectator and the visitor will appreciate the portrait of Sonia Ichti, who is performing in a cage. She tells her story, putting on and off, flat or heeled boots. By celebrating Sonia, her ups and downs, from top to bottom, it is also her journey that J.M. Weston intends to highlight and tell. May the Galerie Boutique J.M. Weston serve as a worthy base for this unique expérience.
