The Historic Union Between J.M. Weston & the French Republican Guard
Since 1975, J.M. Weston provides the boots for the Republican Guards 500 horsemen each year and also gives its customers the opportunity to order these famous boots from their store on the Champs-Elysées. Today, in signing a partnership convention, J.M. Weston and the Republican Guard are celebrating a special relationship that began more than 40 years ago.
This partnership should make this know-how better known and serve to illustrate the values of excellence, stringency and integrity that both our French institutions share. From cutting the leather to hand-finishing, they spend eight weeks in the Limoges workshops, undergoing around 200 procedures involving the techniques employed by the master shoemakers. Made to measure (according to the foot size, height of the leg, back of the knee, calf, mid-calf, ankle and heel girth of the rider), the boots meet the most stringent quality standards.
A representation of the mounted guard, a cavalry fanfare and craft demonstrations were at the heart of the honours J.M. Weston received from the Republican Guard today inside one of its most iconic barracks, situated at 18 Boulevard Henri IV, Paris. Director General of the National Military Police General Richard Lizurey, Commanding General of the Republican Guard Damien Striebig, Christopher Descours and Thierry Oriez were present to sign the partnership convention.
