J.M. Weston x
L’Opéra national de Paris
FEBRUARY 2025
In 2025, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Palais Garnier, the Maison J.M. Weston, an iconic figure of luxury French footwear for men and women since 1891, unveils an exclusive collaboration with the Opéra national de Paris. A subtle blend of the timeless elegance of J.M. Weston and the magnificence of the Opera House designed by Charles Garnier in 1875.
Among the pieces created for this unique collaboration, a pair of loafers for men and women features a cannetille embroidery of the sun motif found in the performance hall above the iconic stage curtain. This motif, symbolizing Louis XIV, the "Sun King," refers to the creation of the Royal Academy of Music by the monarch in 1669.
A second velvet loafer is adorned with a delicate embroidery of a lyre, crafted in gold thread. This motif refers to one of the symbols of the Palais Garnier, evoking the music and poetry that animate this legendary venue.
A final model, an asymmetrical black patent leather oxford with exceptional bootmaker finishes, is distinguished by its sleek line, a brass-tipped toe, and satin black laces offering an unmatched couture effect. The Bordeaux lining, a nod to the chairs and draperies of the Palais Garnier, adds a touch of sophistication and evokes the warm and theatrical atmosphere of the place.
Finally, two clutches in smooth or black patent leather complete the collection. Their clean lines, embossed with the iconic address "Place de l'Opéra, Paris," evoke the timeless modernity of this venue, home to the most beautiful lyrical and choreographic performances in the capital.
This collection of shoes and evening clutches embodies the essence of French craftsmanship, reflected both in the workshops of the Opera House and those of J.M. Weston.
